Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to your lodge in Entebbe
Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport, meet our driver guide and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to KFNP – Afternoon Chimpanzee trekking
Today you will rise up early, have breakfast and set off to Kibale Forest National park to catch up with the afternoon chimpanzee trekking. The drive takes roughly 6 hours via fort portal. Drive straight to Kanyanchu information center for registration and briefing about the do and don ts of chimpanzee trekking. At 2:00pm, start off the hike to trek chimpanzees in the jungle forest. Spend an hour with chimpanzees, learn about their behaviors, take photos and enjoy this memorable experience. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House/ Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After a morning cup of coffee, check out of the lodge and depart for Lake Bunyonyi via fort portal Mbarara Kabale road. Enjoy the scenic drive via farms, tea plantations and small towns to see happy people waving at you. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking
Wake up early, have breakfast, get your packed lunch and transfer to Bwindi forest for pre gorilla trekking briefing and registration with the park. You will be assigned a gorilla family to trek. At 8:00 am, embark on a steep hike to meet the gentle giants. The hiking time to see gorillas is unpredictable but you are very sure of meeting gorillas. Spend an hour with gorillas, observe their human-like characters, take pictures and have fun. Hike back, get your trekking certificate and you’re your driver-guide transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort for an overnight stay.
Day 5&6: Chill at Lake Bunyonyi
You will spend these two days relaxing and chilling on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi. During these days, take a boat cruise to explore different islands of the Lake especially the punishment island where unmarried pregnant Bakiga girls would be taken and left to die in isolation. If you know swimming, enjoy a dive in the fresh waters of Africa’s second deepest lake. Breakfast, Lunch, dinner and overnights at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort
Day 7: Transfer to Kampala
Have breakfast, check out and drive to Kampala for your connecting flight
