Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the Hotel
After arriving at Entebbe international airport, meet your driver guide and transfer to your hotel in Kampala. Rest and prepare for a long drive the next day
Day 2:Tranfer to Murchison Falls – Hike to the top of the falls
Have morning breakfast and transfer to Murchison falls national park. Stop at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola, learn briefly about the orphaned rhinos at the sanctuary and proceed to Murchison falls. Drive to the top of the mighty Murchison falls and observe how the Nile river strongly squeezes through a narrow gorge of 7 meters before plunging 43 meters down to form the mighty waterfall. Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge/ Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Game Viewing & launch cruise
In the early morning, transfer to the open plains of the park for game viewing. Drive through the park looking out for animals grazing and browsing in the park while predators hunting their preys. Expect to see numerous animals which include herds of elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, waterbucks, warthogs, impalas, elands, Uganda kobs and giraffes among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and relax at the lodge waiting for lunch. In the afternoon, join a launch cuisse to the bottom of the falls. Look out for crocodiles, hippos and numerous birds on the river banks. Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge/ Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest
After a cup of coffee, check out and setoff to Kibale Forest national park. Stop in Fort portal for a lunch break and later proceed to Kibale Forest. Check in enjoy the beautiful forest views from the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee guest house/ primates Lodge.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking &Bigodi wetland
Wake up early, have breakfast and transfer to Kanyanchu information center for registration and briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. You will thereafter hike into the jungle to meet your closest relatives, the chimpanzees. Embrace and enjoy the human characters of chimpanzees, take pictures, capture videos and learn about their lifestyles. Return to the lodge for refreshment and in the evening join a nature walk to Bigodi wetland sanctuary a home to primates and birds. Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national/Lake Mburo – Gam viewing
Arise early, have breakfast, check out and transfer to either Queen Elizabeth or Lake Mburo National park. In the evening, join a boat cruise in either of the national parks. In Queen Elizabeth national park, a launch cruise is done at Kazinga which connects lake Edward and George. In Lake Mburo, a boat cruise is done on Lake Mburo. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Lodge, Katara Lodge or Mihingo Lodge/ Gwakobo Lodge in lake Mburo National park.
Day 7: Lion tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
In the early morning, transfer to kasenyi plains for experimental lion tracking for research about the lifestyles of lions in the park. The 3 hours experience rewards you with a great understanding of lions, how they feed, live, hunt and general lifestyles. you will see other animals like elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, impalas, elands, warthogs, and Uganda kobs in the park. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and wait for hot lunch. Alternatively in Lake Mburo, you will have a morning nature walk in the park. In the afternoon, transfer to Lake bunyonyi for dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
Day 8: Mountain gorilla trekking
Wake up early, have breakfast and with your packed lunch transfer to Bwindi Forest. Register with the park and join a briefing about the rules and regulations of mountain gorilla trekking. At 8:00am, hike into the jungle to meet the gentle giants. The hiking time before meeting gorillas in uncertain depending on where gorillas will be located that day. After finding the gentle giants, spend an hour in their presence. Observe how each gorilla plays a different role in the family juts like in human home. After an hour with gorillas, hike back and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
Day 9: Island tour in bunyonyi Or transfer to Kampala.
Today, you will explore the islands of Lake Bunyonyi. After breakfast, embark on a boat cruise to different island of Lake Bunyonyi. These include the punishments island where pregnant unmarried bakiga girls would be taken and left to die in isolation, Bucuraniko island which means upside down, Bushara, Bugara and Akampene island. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort. If you traveled to Kampala, enjoy night life in Kampala for clubbing, movies in any Cinemax or comedies in any of the comedy stores in Kampala.
Day 10: Departure
Have breakfast and transfer to Entebbe international airport for your connecting flight.
