Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Kasenyi airstrip – Evening boat cruise at Kazinga channel
Pick up from your hotel/ airport and transfer to Kajjansi airstrip for a connecting flight to Kasenyi in Queen Elizabeth national park. Check into the lodge and in the afternoon; join a boat cruise at Kazinga channel for excellent bird watching and cool water breezes. Kazinga channel connects Lakes Edward and George and its bank’s house numerous birds and water animals. Overnight stay at Kasenyi Safari Camp/ Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Kyambura chimpanzee trekking & evening game drives
Wake up early, have breakfast and transfer to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Enjoy a down trek in this forest, meet chimpanzees at a close range and enjoy the quietness and coldness of this small forest. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening go for game viewing in the open plains of the park. Queen Elizabeth national park has a high concentration of animals like elephants, buffalos, Kobs, Elands, Impalas, Lion, Leopards, waterbuck, warthogs and Hippos among others. Overnight stay at Kasenyi Safari Camp/ Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Ishasha game drives & flies to Kihihi airstrip (Kabale)
In the early morning, drive to ishasha sector home for the famous tree-climbing lions. Look out for lions up in the acacia trees and fig trees staring at you. It’s a magical experience seeing lions just above you resting in the tree branches. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Kasenyi airstrip and join your connecting flight to Kihihi airstrip in Kabale district. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking & Lake Bunyonyi
Today you will wake up very early, have a cup of coffee, get your packed lunch and drive to the park headquarters for briefing and registration. At 8:00, hike into this dense forest to meet the allocated gorilla family. Hiking time varies depending on the location of a gorilla family and their speed of movements. You will spend an hour with gorillas, learn about their social behaviors, take pictures and have fun. Hike back, meet your driver-guide and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
Day 5: Fly to Entebbe
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Kihihi airstrip for your connecting flight to Entebbe.
