Day 1: Transfer to Virunga National Park
Early morning, you will be served with breakfast and after, pick up by one of our driver guides who will take you through what your 3 days gorilla safari is all about. After, head off to Bukima-DR Congo with a stopover at Goma for lunch. Later, proceed to Virunga National Park to check in at Bukima lodge (midrange) or Mikeno lodge (luxury) for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
Since this is a long awaited day, you will get up early enough to have your breakfast at your respective lodge. After, head off to the park headquarters to join other visitors for morning briefing on the set safety measures for gorilla trekking. It is during this day that you will be assigned to one habituated group to track in a group of 8 visitors. The trek may last you about 2 to 6 hours less or more depending on your hiking speed, nature of the habitat and location of these creatures in the course of the day. Make sure that you have some energy giving snacks, bottled water as well as fully equipped with good waterproof hiking boots, gardening gloves, insect repellents, sunscreen, walking stick, camera with no flashlight, long sleeved shirt or t-shirt, trouser and others. After, return to the lodge to dine and spend a night at Bukima lodge (Midrange) or Mikeno lodge (luxury).
Day 3: Return to Kigali
Get up early in the morning and after, check out from your respective lodge ready to make a return journey to Kigali. This will mark the end of your 3 days DR Congo gorilla tour.
