Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up, Rhino tracking – transfer to Murchison Falls National park
In the early morning, our driver guide will pick you up from Entebbe airport or your hotel in Entebbe and transfer to Zziwa rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola for rhino tracking. Enjoy an encounter with these endangered and thereafter proceed to Masindi for lunch. Later, embark on a drive to the top of Murchison falls for clear views of waters strongly squeeze though a 7 meters gorge falling 43 meters down into a devils cauldron. Dinner and overnight stay at Murchison River Lodge, Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Game viewing & launch cruise
Wake up very early and rive to the northern sector of the park for game viewing. There you will see numerous animals including elephants, giraffes lions, waterbucks, leopards, buffalos, warthogs, Topis, elands and Uganda kobs among others. Retrun to the lodge for breakfast and wait for lunch. In the afternoon, join a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls. The cruise gives you a fresh feeling of cold breezes plus a spectacular views of numerous birds and water animals on the river banks. Overnight stay at Murchison River Lodge, Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National park
After morning breakfast, check out and setoff to Kibale Forest National park, the primate capital in East Africa. Enjoy this 7 hours scenic drive though Kyonjojo – Hoima road reaching Kibale Forest In the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp, Chimpanzee Guest Camp
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi Wetland walk
Today you will wake up very early, have a cup of coffee and with your packed lunch transfer to Kanyanchu information center for registration and briefing about the rules of chimpanzee trekking. Hiking to meet chimpanzees starts at 8:00am and may be as short as 30 minutes or extending to several hours depending on where chimpanzees will be located that day. However, you are assured of meeting these endangered species with no doubt. On meeting the, spend an hour with a chimpanzee community, Learn about the human like behaviors of chimpanzees, learn how they interact, take pictures and enjoy this magical encounter. In the evening, go for a nature walk through Bigodi wetland, a home to numerous birds and primates. The forest walk gives you a fresh feeling of the natural environment. Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Arise early, have breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Bunyonyi. The 7 hours drive gives you scenic views of green tea plantations, Ankole farms and the rolling hills of Kigezi. Overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi & Batwa visit
Wake up early of a cup of coffee, get your packed lunch and drive to the respective Bwindi park headquarters to catch up with the pre gorilla trekking briefing at 7:00am. You will be put in a group of eight travelers and assigned a gorilla family to trek. At 8:00am, start off the hike into the jungle to meet the giants in their natural habitat. Hiking time may be long or short depending on the location of gorillas and their speed of movements. On meeting the gorilla family, spend an hour in their company, enjoy their human like characters, learn about their lifestyles, and take pictures and enjoy this close encounter. Hike back, pick your trekking certificate and find your driver guide at the starting point. If time allows, you will visit Batwa pygmies for a cultural performance and to learn about their traditional forest life. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort
Day 7: Departure
Have a morning breakfast, check out and drive back to Kampala fro your connecting flight.
