Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at Kigali Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our experienced and well trained driver guides who then will drive you up to Volcanoes National Park about 2-3 hours. En-route, have opportunity to enjoy the scenic surrounding areas filled with rolling hills that make this part of Africa a true Land of a Thousand hills. Once you arrive at the park, check in at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/Bisate safari lodge/Sabyinyo silverback lodge (Luxury), Gorillas Volcanoes Hotel/La Palme Hotel/Gorilla Nest Lodge (Midrange), Kinigi Guest House/Muhabura Hotel (Budget) for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 2: 1st Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
Kick start your day with a tasty cup of tea or coffee at your respective safari lodge and after, gather at Volcanoes national park headquarters for briefing on dos and don’ts for gorilla trekking from one of the park officials. Later, hit the jungles with your packed lunch/energy giving snacks plus bottled water to look out for the gorilla familyGorilla trackingthat will be allocated to you in a group of 8 members plus an experienced park guide. This experience may last you about 1-6 hours of winding through the dense vegetation and steep slopes of Volcanoes National Park. On getting your habituated family, you have an hour to strike your imaginations with these most dramatic creatures in the wild, take as many photos as you can, learn more about their general behaviors and body gestures. Later, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/Bisate safari lodge/Sabyinyo silverback lodge (Luxury), Gorillas Volcanoes Hotel/La Palme Hotel/Gorilla Nest Lodge (Midrange), Kinigi Guest House/Muhabura Hotel (Budget).

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and drive to Bwindi National Park
Early in the morning, still join other visitors at Volcanoes national park headquarters for briefing but for today’s case on golden monkey tracking Primate Safaris
rules and regulations to be observed while in the jungles. After, set off to the rainforest to search for these glittering and jumpy creatures or alternatively, take hike to Karisoke research center where Dian Fossey tombs site is found to explore more about Dian Fossey’s gorilla conservation legacy and the lives of these magnificent creatures at the research. After, return and embark on a road trip after having some rest and lunch for about 2-3 hours’ drive depending on the border crossing you will take to get to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This park offers refuge to about half of all the mountain gorillas that still remain on earth today. On arrival, check in at Gorilla Forest Camp/chameleon hill lodge (Luxury), Gorilla Mist Camp/Gorilla Valley Lodge/Nkuringo gorilla camp (Moderate), Broadbill forest camp/Buhoma community rest camp (Basic).

Day 4: 2nd gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

On this day, you will embark on second trek to see the rare mountain gorillas but this time round in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, southwestern Uganda. You start your day with breakfast and after, you gather at your respective trailhead at Bwindi for briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. Before setting off, make sure that you have some packed lunch or energy giving snacks to help you boost energy as the trek is breathtaking.  This adventure may last you about 1-8 hours and only 1 hour is given to you to have face to face encounter with these amazing primates while in their natural habitat, take as many pictures as you can, learn more about their behaviors in the wild and not to forget the most interesting body gestures. After, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Forest Camp/chameleon hill lodge (Luxury), Gorilla Mist Camp/Gorilla Valley Lodge/Nkuringo gorilla camp (Midrange), Broadbill forest camp/Buhoma community rest camp (Budget).

Day 5: Return to Kigali
Kagali cityFollowing breakfast early in the morning, check out from the lodge ready to set off for a return journey to Kigali capital where you will have a quick city tour if time allows. You will pay a visit to Kigali/Gisozi genocide memorial site but this is optional then you connect to Kigali airport for your flight back home if at all it is scheduled the same day and this marks the end of your 5 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trekking safari.
