6 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari

Your 6 day gorilla and wildlife safari begins and ends in Kampala. It takes you to southwestern Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to track mountain gorillas. This park boasts of about 400 mountain gorillas and to be part of this lifetime experience, you can secure a permit for yourself in advance at $600. This life changing primate adventure in Bwindi National Park is always conducted in 4 (Four) major trailheads and each of them feature habituated gorilla families. They include Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sector. Besides, you will also head to Queen Elizabeth National Park a home to many incredible savanna grassland wildlife species.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be picked up by our driver guide ready to set off for a 5-6 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, make a stopover at Equator and where possible make an experiment at this point, take photos. Later, proceed to Mbarara for lunch and then later connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have a rest, dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge (Luxury), Hippo Hills camp/Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge/Kyambura Game Lodge (Midrange) or Simba Safari Lodge (Budget).

Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise in the afternoon-Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have breakfast at your lodge and later embark on an early morning game drive via Kasenyi track to look out for many distinct savanna grassland wildlife species. On a game drive, have opportunity to spot out many wildlife species such as antelope families, buffaloes, lions, elephants, birds and many more. After, drive back and have lunch at your lodge. When you are done with lunch, get prepared for yet another exciting experience on launch cruiseUganda safaris along Kazinga channel where you will be rewarded with incredible views of several water species including hippos, crocodiles; elephants, buffaloes that come to feed around the channel as well as birds such as the malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork, pink backed pelicans and many more. After, return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge (Luxury), Hippo Hills camp/Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge/Kyambura Game Lodge (Midrange) or Simba Safari Lodge (Budget).

Day 3: Depart to Bwindi National Park
Have a delicious breakfast and after, head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park-a home to more than 400 mountain gorillasEngagi Safaris with about 15 groups readily available for you to track. En-route enjoy the stunning hill side of southwestern Uganda, banana plantation. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge of choice for rest, dinner and night stay at Gorilla Forest Camp/Buhoma lodge /chameleon hill lodge (Luxury), Gorilla Mist Camp/Gorilla Valley Lodge/Nkuringo gorilla camp, Broadbill forest camp/Buhoma community rest camp (Budget).

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

On this day, you get up early in the morning, have breakfast and later join other visitors for morning briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. You will track gorillas in a sector where your permit directs you to. One habituated family is tracked by 8 visitors and only an hour is given to you to spend with these rare apes face to face, take photos and explore their behaviors. Later, return to lodge for a rest, dinner and a night stay at Gorilla Forest Camp/Buhoma lodge /chameleon hill lodge (Luxury), Gorilla Mist Camp/Gorilla Valley Lodge/Nkuringo gorilla camp, Broadbill forest camp/Buhoma community rest camp (Budget).

Day 5: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Have breakfast early in the morning and after be transferred by driver guide to Lake Bunyonyi-one of Africa’s deepest Lake and a few most stunning water bodies in the world. This lake is popular as a Switzerland of Africa and en-route,Lake Bunyonyi enjoy the stunning views of the undulating hilly area. Up on arrival, have a rest, lunch and after embark on a boat ride to one of the incredible islands that make up a total of about 29 islands in this water body. You will also have a chance to spot out several birds in this Lake and after, return to lodge for relaxation, dinner and a night stay at Arcadia cottages (luxury), Bunyonyi Overland Resort (Midrange), Bunyonyi Overland camp (Budget).

Day 6: Return to Kampala

Early in the morning, you will have breakfast and after check out of the lodge ready to drive back to Kampala. Along the way, have lunch at Mbarara Town and then proceed to Kampala and this marks the end of your six day gorilla and wildlife safari in Uganda.
