Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up – Zziwa rhino tracking
Our driver-guide will pick you from Entebbe airport or your hotel and transfer to Zziwa rhino sanctuary. Join a trek to see endangered rhinos, learn about their lifestyles, take pictures and have fun with these endangered species in their natural habitat. Dinner and overnight at Amuka Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls park – the top of the falls & evening game drive
Wake up early, have a cup of coffee, check out and drive north-westwards to Murchison Falls national park. Drive to the top of the mighty Murchison Falls; observe how the Rive Nile waters squeeze through a narrow gorge to drop down into a waterfall. Also, enjoy an evening game drives through the park to catch-up with wild animals feeding before retiring for night rest. Dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Lodge/ Murchison River Lodge.
Day 3: Game viewing & boat cruise
In the early morning, drive to the northern region of Murchison falls park for greater game viewing. Expect to see numerous animals including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, Elands, Topis, impalas, Oribis and black-headed lapwing among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast; wait for lunch and in the afternoon ggofor boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. Enjoy the cool breezes, observe a permanent rainbow at the bottom of the falls and look out for birds and water animals on the riverbanks. Dinner and overnight stay at Budongo Eco Lodge
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest
Wake up early, have breakfast and go for chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest. The trek through this forest gives you a fresh feeling of the natural environment, which refreshes your mind. Enjoy a magical encounter with the chimpanzees, learn their behaviors, take pictures and have fun. More so, Budongo forest is home to numerous birds and monkey species which you will definitely see making the whole experience memorable. Dinner and overnight stay at Kontick Hotel in Hoima.
Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After morning breakfast, check out and depart for Kibale Forest National park, the “Primate Capital” via fort portal Kamwengye road. Enjoy this scenic drive through tea farms, bananas, and local towns. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House/ Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi
Wake up early, have a cup of coffee, get your packed lunch and transfer to Kanyanchu information center for registration and briefing about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. The trek to meet chimpanzees starts at 8:00 am, taking 30 minutes to several hours depending on where chimpanzees will be located that day. Spend an hour with a chimpanzee community, embrace their human-like characters, take pictures and have fun. In the evening, go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland home to numerous birds and primates. A nature walk gives you a fresh feeling of the natural environment. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House/ Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Explore Crater lakes & Kazinga channel boat cruise
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park, Uganda’s second-largest park. Explore various crater lakes in this park including lake katwe for salt mining, Lake Bunyampaka and Lake Munyanyange known for migratory lesser and greater flamingoes. In the afternoon, join a boat cruise at Kazinga channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. Enjoy the scenic views of birds like hammerkop, African fish eagle, Kingfisher, White egrets, Ibises, and yellow billed stork plus wild animals (crocodiles, buffalos and hippos) on the Riverbanks. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Simba Safari Lodge/ UWA Bandas.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Have breakfast, check out and drive through the Ishasha sector home to the tree-climbing lions. Have en-route lunch, enjoy a scenic drive through villages, local farms proceeding to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale district for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.
Day 9: Mountain gorilla trekking & Batwa community tour
Today you will wake up early, have breakfast and with our packed lunch transfer to the respective Bwindi park headquarters for registration and briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. You will be put together in groups of eight and allocated a gorilla family. At8:00 am, start off a trek to meet the gorillas. Hiking time is unpredictable but you are 99.9% sure of meeting gorillas. After meeting gorillas, spend an hour in their company. Enjoy the humanlike characters of gorillas, take pictures, learn about their lifestyles and enjoy this magical encounter. In the evening if tie allows, visit batwa communities to learn about the traditional forest life of Batwa pygmies. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort
Day 10: Departure
After morning breakfast, check out and transfer to Kigali International airport for your return flight
