Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to the hotel

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by the diver guide, from Engagi Safaris. Meet, greet, and transfer to Victoria Rock Resort for dinner and overnight

Day 2:  Birding at Mabamba & visit the Wildlife Education Centre

Have morning breakfast and transfer to Mabamba Wetland sanctuary, home to the rare shoebill stork, Embark on a canoe riding through the swamp in search of the iconic shoebill. Enjoy seeing how the shoebill stork feats on the fish caught from the swamp. Also, the wetland is home to several birds which you will see. Return to the lodge for refreshment and in the afternoon, visit the Wildlife Education Center where different birds and wild animals are habituated. Dinner and overnight at Victoria Rock Resort

Day 3: Transfer to MFN – Rhino tracking, visit the top of the falls

Wake up early, have breakfast, and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. Have a stopover at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking and have lunch enroute. From there proceed to Murchison Falls Park and join a hike to the top of the falls for spectacular views. You will experience how strong river Nile waters squeeze through a 7-meter gorge before falling 43 meters down.  Dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge

 

Day 4: Relax & Afternoon Boat Cruise

Enjoy your sleep in the morning, have a sunrise breakfast, and chill at your lodge waiting for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls.  Enjoy seeing how the string Nile Waters squeeze through a 7-meter narrow gorge falling into the devil’s cauldron to form a permanent rainbow. The boat cruise also offers you exceptional views of wild water animals such as hippos, crocodiles and several bird species seen on the bank of the river

 

 Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest Park National Park

Have an early morning breakfast, check out, and drive out of Murchison Falls National Park headed to Kibale Forest” the Primates capital of Africa”. Spend the rest of the evening chilling at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge

Day 6:  Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland

Following heavy breakfast at the lodge, get your packed lunch and drive to Kanyanchu Visitor Information Center for registration and briefing on the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. The trek to meet these men’s close relatives starts at 8:00 am. Trek through the rain forest searching for the allocated chimpanzee community. You will also meet other primates and Colobus monkeys that live in Kibale Forest. Spend an hour with chimpanzees, enjoy their company, and embrace their human characters. In the afternoon, go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland to explore more of what nature offers. The wetland is home to various birds, primates, and reptiles. Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth – Afternoon boat cruise

Have an early morning breakfast as you enjoy your last moments at  Kibale Forest National ark. Thereafter, check out of the lodge and embark on a drive transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second largest park in Uganda. Check into your h lodge in Queen Elizabeth and refresh. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise at Kazinga Channel rewarding you with scenic views of wild animals and birds on the river bank and in the entire park.  Dinner and overnight at Tembo Safari Lodge

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Have a relaxed breakfast at your lodge and enjoy your last moments in this beautiful Park. You then check out of the lodge and via ishasha sector drive out of the park headed to Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort

Day 9: Relax on Lake Bunyonyi

Spend this day relaxing on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi. Chill on the balcony of your room overlooking the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi and the neighboring local communities and gardens.  If you wish, you can engage in any of the optional activities, such as boat cruising, bird watching, Ziplining, community tours, tubing, mountain biking, and swimming among others. Meals and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort

Day 10: Bunyonyi & transfer to Kisoro

Today, you will have a relaxed sunrise breakfast on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi and enjoy your last memories there. Later on, start the drive headed to Kisoro district, home to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The drive through Kigezi’s rolling hills and local communities offers you more fun and enjoyable experience. Dinner and Travelers Rest Hotel

 

Day 11: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga & transfer to Volcanoes Park

Wake up very early, have breakfast, get your packed lunch, and transfer to Ntebeko Visitor Information Centre of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You will be registered and briefed on the rules and regulations of mountain gorilla trekking. At 8:00 am, start the hike through the rain forest searching for the one and only Nyakagyezi gorilla family. The gorilla trek can last for between 30 minutes to over 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. However, the allowed time with the gorillas is strictly an hour from the moment you see them.  Later in the day, cross to Rwanda via Cyanika border and drive to Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Five to Five Hotel

 

Day 12: Golden Monkey Trekking & Iby’iwacu Cultural Tour

Wake up on a cup of coffee and transfer to Kinigi Park headquarters for registration and briefing about the rules and regulations of Golden Monkey trekking. At 2:00 am, start a hike to meet these playful and lively monkey species. The hike is not as strenuous as in gorilla trekking. In the afternoon, go for a cultural tour to the Iby’iwacu cultural village, where you will learn and experience the traditions, norms, customs, and beliefs of Rwanda’s local people.  You will meet and interact with locals which make you feel like part of the community. Day 13: Boat Cruise on Lake Kivu – Visit hot springs, Optional massage

Early today, have breakfast and go for a boat cruise on Lake Kivu. Enjoy a cruise to explore the hot springs whose water is believed to cure different kinds of diseases. The cruise offers you scenic views of Rwanda’s rolling hills, local communities, and calm waters as you enjoy the fresh cold breeze. If you want, do an optional massage ($30) to relax your muscles. Dinner and overnight at Paradise Malahide

Day 14: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Have breakfast, check out, and leave Lake Kivu headed to Nyungwe Forest National Park also located in southwestern Rwanda. Spend the rest of the day and night at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel

 

Day 15: Ruwenzori Monkey Trekking & transfer to Cyagungu

Wake up very early, have breakfast, and transfer to the Uwinka visitor information center for registration and briefing on the guidelines of the Ruwenzori monkey trekking experience. At 8:00 am start the trek through the jungle forest to meet this rare species of monkeys. You may also meet other monkey species and other primates that live in Nyungwe Forest. Learn about the unique characters of Ruwenzori monkeys and enjoy their com-nay for an hour. Later on, embark on a drive transferring to Cyagungu. Dinner and overnight at Umucyo Lodge.  

 

Day 16: Lowland Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park

Wake up early, have breakfast and transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park in eastern Congo. Assemble at the Prak headquarters for briefing and at 8:00 am embark on a trek to see the eastern lowland gorillas. Enjoy a magical encounter with the largest gorilla species only found in their national park. Trekking time is not certain but you will spend an hour in the company of the gorillas.  After gorilla trekking, hike back, meet your driver-guide and drive back to Cyagungu town for an overnight stay at Umucyo Lodge.

Day 17: Transfer to Kigali

Have breakfast, check out, and drive back to Kigali city. Enjoy this scenic drive overlooking Rwanda’s hills, local villages, and farms. Overnight stay at Kigali Marriot Hotel

Day 18:  Optional city tour & Fly to Nairobi

Depending on the time of your departure flight, you can do an optional Kigali city tour ($100) to visit the genocide memorial center, Kimironko Market, and the presidential palace. You will then drive to the airport and fly to Nairobi Kenya

Day 19: Visit Giraffe & Elephant Orphanage

Wake up early, have breakfast, and visit the giraffe and elephant orphanage at Davis Sheldrick Wildlife Center. Observe how orphaned giraffes and elephants are fed, take part in feeding them, and learn about their lifestyles at the sanctuary.  Dinner and overnight stay at Carnival restaurant

Day 20: Transfer to Amboseli National Park

Have breakfast and leave Nairobi to Amboseli National Park in Loitoktok district, Rift Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

Day 21: Full Day game viewing in Amboseli

Spend this full day exploring and enjoying the beauties of Amboseli National Park.  Game drives through the savannah grasses offer you great views of numerous wild animals including buffalos, wildebeest, giraffes, lions, zebras, hyenas, cheetahs, and Impalas among others. Amboseli National Park also shelters numerous bird species such as Africa Jacana, Grey Crowned Crane, Rufous Chatter, and Goliath Heron among others. Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

Day 22: Transfer to Masai Mara National Park

Today you will have breakfast check out and transfer to Masai Mara National Park in the Rift Valley Province southwestern Kenya near Narok City. Overnight stay at Mara Engagi Lodge, Mara Sun Lodge

Day 23: Full-day game viewing

Have breakfast, get your packed lunch, and go for a full-day game-viewing experience in the open savannahs of Masai Mara National Park. The park has a high concentration of wild animals including lions, Zebras, Hippos, Cheetahs, Wildebeests, zebras, elephants, and impalas among others.  You will have a chance to have a close encounter with animals grazing, browsing, and hunting.  Overnight stay at Mara Engagi Lodge, Mara Sun Lodge.

Day 24: Transfer/fly to Serengeti National Park

Today you can either choose to drive to Serengeti National Park or fly ($) to Arusha airport. Thereafter, drive to Serengeti National Park in the northern region of Tanzania. Overnight stay at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge

Day 25 & 26: Explore Serengeti National Park

You will spend these two full days exploring and enjoying the beauty of Serengeti National Park. Game drives through the park give you great encounters with animals such as white rhinos, Elephants, Cheetahs, lion leopards, Grants’ gazelle, Impalas, buffalos, and Topis among others. The other interesting activities to do in Serengeti National Park include nature walking, hot air balloon, Visiting the Serengeti Visitor Centre, Camping, visiting the Masai local communities,  bush breakfast, picnic lunch, and visiting Bolongoja springs among others. Meals and overnight stay at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge

Day 27: Ngorongoro crater & sleep in Karatu

Wake up early, have breakfast, and transfer to Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game viewing.  Ngorongoro is home to animals such as Blue wildebeest, Spotted hyenas, Hippos, Black rhinos, Lions, African bush elephants, Spotted Hyenas, and African buffalos among others. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.

Day 28 – 30: Fly to Zanzibar – Optional Activities

Early today, have breakfast and go to Zanzibar, where you will spend the rest of the day.  Engage in different optional activities, such as Sunset screen cruise ($50), Visiting prison island ($100), Spice farm ($100), Visiting Turturtles Cave ($100), swimming with Dolphins & Snorkeling ($150) among others
